Police recovered the dismembered bodies of two women and a child from Siddhirganj of Narayanganj on Friday morning.
The bodies, stuffed in sacks, were found around 11:30 am near the house of Amir Hossain in the Mizmizi West Para area of Siddhirganj.
The victims were identified as Sopna Khatun, 25, Lamia Khatun, 22 and Habib, 2. Sopna and Lamia are siblings. Sopna was an RMG factory worker.
Earlier in the morning, locals spotted dismembered bodies packed in sacks in the Mizmizi area and informed the police by calling 999.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Relatives of the victims said Lamia’s husband Md Yasin is a drug-addicted. He was unemployed and used to quarrel with Lamia. They claimed that Yasin killed the trio.
Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Shahinur Alam said the bodies have been sent to the morgue for post-mortem. Details will be disclosed later after the investigation, he added.
