Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Faruque Ahmed said on Wednesday (March 5) that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has promised them to tour Bangladesh for a white-ball series in July-August, but the schedule and number of matches are yet to be confirmed by both boards.
“Since this series is out of FTP, everyone has a tight FTP schedule, even it’s difficult for us to make some time out from the FTP series. We are trying to make time so that we can play some white-ball matches in between our FTP," Faruque told reporters on Wednesday.
"They promised that they will tour, but the number of matches hasn’t been finalised yet.”
Bangladesh are scheduled to tour Pakistan at the end of May for a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series as per the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP).
Following the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh's next international assignment is slated to be against Zimbabwe comprising two Tests scheduled respectively in Sylhet and Chattogram from mid-April.
Bangladesh are also scheduled to play against Sri Lanka at their own backyard in June-July for two Tests along with three ODIs and as many T20Is.
Bangladesh is slated to host India in August-September for three ODIs along with three T20Is.
Faruque said they will try to host the Pakistan series in between the Sri Lanka and India series in July-August.
“We will travel to Sri Lanka in May-June and then we have a home series against India. We will try to make a schedule in July-August.”
"We are discussing for the last several weeks some series also which both boards will be announcing very soon," PCB president Mohsin Naqvi said.
