Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was set to play for Hobart Hurricanes in the ongoing Big Bash League. However, due to his commitments in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), he missed the opportunity. Hobart later signed Afghanistan’s left-arm spinner Waqar Salamkheil as his replacement.
Rishad also missed the initial matches for Barishal in the BPL. Following yesterday’s match against Sylhet Strikers, the leg-spinner faced inevitable questions about the Big Bash during the press conference. Rishad responded candidly.
When asked about it, The tiger leg-spinner said, “I have always siad the I have no regrets. I focus on what’s in front of me. Right now, the BPL is on-going and I am thinking about BPL only. Big Bash didn’t happen—it wasn’t in my fate. Hopefully, next time, InshaAllah”
"I wasn’t in the XI due to team combination. I didn’t feel uncomfortable about it. Whatever the team needs will take preference," said Rishad
Rishad emphasized his readiness to sit out if required by the team, saying, "I don’t overthink such things. I prepare myself to play every day. If I don’t play due to team combinations, it’s not in my hands."
