Barrister Rumeen Farhana, co-secretary of international affairs for the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), stated, "I said, 'Sheikh Hasina, you can hold elections in 2024, but your parliament will not last more than a year.' Thank God, it didn’t even last seven months."
She made these remarks while addressing a public meeting in Rajapur village, Aruail Union, Brahmanbaria Sarail Upazila, on Tuesday evening as the chief guest.
Rumeen criticized the Prime Minister’s tenure, saying, "You tried to claim the Ganabhaban as if it were your ancestral property. But the one who flew from Ganabhaban by helicopter could not return."
Addressing the crowd, she also warned against complacency within her party, stating, "The Awami League is no longer visible, but invisible enemies remain. BNP has not come to power yet, so we must remain vigilant. Avoid injustice or questionable practices. Unity within BNP is crucial, as there are forces working to divide us."
Rumeen emphasized the importance of electing the right leaders, saying, "If we stay united and choose the right people, we can ensure that no second Hasina will rise in Bangladesh."
