BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has reached the London Clinic from Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom on Wednesday.
She arrived at Heathrow Airport at 3:15 pm Bangladesh time on Wednesday. The BNP Chairperson was welcomed there by the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman and other family members.
Later, Tarique drove his mother directly from the airport to the hospital.
A video of the BNP media cell shows Tarique taking mother Khaleda Zia in a black car. He is driving the car himself.
Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP Chairperson's press wing, confirmed the matter to the media.
Khaleda Zia's treatment will begin at the traditional London clinic. After a few days of treatment there, she is scheduled to receive treatment at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, USA.
The former prime minister is suffering from various physical ailments including liver cirrhosis, kidney, heart, diabetes, and arthritis.
Khaleda Zia is accompanied by Syeda Shamila Rahman, the wife of her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, and long-time domestic worker Fatima Begum. In addition, six members of the medical board formed for the treatment are also accompanying her to London.
