Referring to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Allama Mamunul Haque said, "When young men, school and college students, madrasa students, and hardworking laborers were being shot and killed from helicopters... when the country was drenched in the blood of its people, the ruler of that country had 12 different dishes prepared at her home for lunch. This was only possible for them because they viewed state power as a tool for personal indulgence."
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an Islamic grand conference organized by the Maulana Sayen Uddin Foundation at Gatti Union of Faridpur's Saltha Upazila on Tuesday night.
Mamunul Haque said, “Our country currently follows a political system rooted in Western civilization. In this system, after coming to power, political leaders and the unemployed youths associated with them believe that since others engaged in extortion before, it is now their turn.
He added, "Sheikh Hasina is hardly seen nowadays. While in power at 77 years old, it seemed as if Sheikh Hasina’s age was decreasing every year. However, just keep an eye on her and see how she will look after a year."
