Syeda Sadia Sultana, the gold medal winner shooter both in SA and Commonwealth games died on Sunday afternoon.
She died due to stroke, according to ther physicians.
Sadia Sultana's father told the media, "My daughter Sadia is no more. She left everyone around 2 pm. We are now taking her body out of the hospital."
Sadia Sultana won gold in the 10m air rifle team event at the 2010 SA Games. She also won a medal in the Commonwealth Shooting in Delhi that year. Sadia also won a gold medal at the 2013 Bangladesh Games. Since then, she has kept herself away from the shooting arena.
She made headlines about seven years ago in a major accident. In 2017, she became victim of an accident while cooking at her home. She had to undergo surgery after a fire burned a large part of her body. Although she recovered after receiving treatment, this time a brain hemorrhage prevented her from recovering.
Former BCB director and former general secretary of Chattogram Divisional Sports Association Sirajuddin Alamgir said that the funeral of professional shooter Sadia will be held at the Mominbagh Anirban Club premises in port city at 8 pm.
