Caribbean superstar Andre Russell has arrived in Dhaka to play for Rangpur Riders in the BPL. Along with him, Australian power-hitter Tim David and English batter James Vince have also joined the squad.
Rangpur started the tournament strongly, winning their first eight matches. However, they struggled towards the end of the group stage, losing their last four games.
As a result, they now find themselves in the Eliminator, where they will face Khulna Tigers today at 1:30 pm in a do-or-die clash.
Russell, David, and Vince reached Dhaka on Monday (3 February), as confirmed by a source from Rangpur Riders.
All three players were recently playing in the ILT20. Russell was with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, while Tim David and James Vince played for Gulf Giants.
Since both teams were eliminated in the group stage, Rangpur took the opportunity to bring them in—and successfully did so.
On the other hand, ahead of the eliminator match, Khulna Tigers have added two Caribbean stars to their squad—Shimron Hetmyer and Jason Holder—who will be joining Mehidy Hasan Miraz's team.
On Monday morning, Khulna Tigers confirmed the signing of these two players through their official Facebook page.
