Bangladesh team made a worse start in the six-nation South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-19 Championships as they had undergone huge 0-3 goal defeat against their arch-rival India on Thursday afternoon.
In the opening Group B match of the regional youth soccer meet at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu. Bangladesh U-19 team were went down by 0-2 goal in the first half.
Gwgwmsar Goyary scored the first goal for India twinkling of an eye in the very first minute of the match (1-0).
Naoba Meitei Pangamam doubled the Indian margin in the added time of the first half (45+5 minute) to dominate the match (2-0).
Arjun Singh sealed the fate of the match scoring the 3rd goal for India in the 90th minute (3-0).
Bangladesh will play Bhutan in the remaining group match on Saturday (September 23) at the same venue.
Earlier, Bangladesh was placed in Group B of the regional youth meet with their giant neighbor India and Bhutan
Hosts Nepal, the Maldives and Pakistan put in Group A of the SAFF U-19 Championship '2023 to be held between September 21-30.
Top two teams from each of the groups will play in the semifinals on September 27 while the final match will be held on September 30.
