International Cricket Council (ICC) has brought corruption charge against former Bangladeshi national cricketer Nasir Hossain, along with 7 others.
The International cricket’s apex body has alleged that he has breached “four anti-corruption clauses”.
Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain was the captain of Pune Devils in Abu Dhabi T-Ten League in 2021. However, Nasir's team played the worst in the tournament. They finished 8th out of 8 teams with 2 wins in 6 matches of the group stage.
Since the end of the tournament, the ICC's anti-corruption unit has started an investigation against several potential cricketers. In the end, they managed to form some corruption charges against a total of 8 people including cricketers and officials. Nasir Hossain is the only cricketer of Bangladesh involved in the corruption.
ICC announced this information through a press release. In the press release, the ICC wrote, they formed this complaint on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). Nasir has been charged with breaching a total of four sections of the Anti-Corruption Code.
The eight persons who have been charged are - Krishan Kumar Chowdhury (sole owner), Parag Sanghvi (sole owner), Azhar Zaidi (batting coach), Sunny Dilan (assistant coach), Shadab Ahmed (team manager), local cricketer from UAE. Rizwan Javed, Salia Saman and Nasir Hussain.
