SAFF winning women's team midfielder Rituporna Chakma sustained injuries during their open bus parade from airport to BFF house on Wednesday afternoon.
Fortunately, no big trouble occurred and the player is safe, said BFF executive Imran.
He said Rituporna Chakma was injured as roadside billboard hit her on the way to BFF house by open bus parade. She was rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and she needed three stitches on her head.
Rituparna, however, later joined the celebration programme at BFF Bhaban.
Bangladesh made a new history by defeating host Nepal by 3-1 goals in the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship against Nepal in Kathmandu on Monday.
Marking the historic occasion, women footballers were greeted with flowers by the countrymen including State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Hasan Russell and other dignitaries.
