Sabina Khatun, the “goal machine” of the Bangladesh Women's Football Team has won the ‘Golden Boot’ by scoring a total of 8 goals in four matches in the SAFF Women’s Championship in Nepal.
Throughout the tournament, Sabina made two hat-tricks paving the way to reach the final of her team.
The “goal machine” makes a century of goals in the domestic league. She has also a record as the top goal scorer with the jersey of Bashundhara Kings.
Bangladesh made a new history by defeating host Nepal by 3-1 goals in the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship against Nepal in Kathmandu on Monday.
The first goal of the match came in the 14th minute by the substitute player Shamsunnahar. She replaced regular striker Shopna minutes earlier, who had to go off with an injury.
Later, Krishna Rani Sarkar scored another goal in 42 minutes.
The victory crowned Bangladesh the champions in South Asian women's football ending India's reign of five successive titles.
