Bangladesh lost their Group B match of five-nation AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to strong Qatar by 0-3 goal at Sheikh Ali Bin Mohammed Bin Khalifa Stadium in Bahrain on Friday night.
Qatar’s Ahmed Al Rawi made a hat trick, scoring all three goals for Qatar in the 23rd, 60th and added time (90+2).
After the match, Qatar is top in the group with all-win record securing full nine points from three matches, followed by hosts Bahrain with seven points and Bangladesh with four points.
The slim chance of Bangladesh to reach the 16- team final round is still alive if they can beat Nepal convincingly in their last group match on Sunday at 9:pm Bangladesh time at the same venue.
Two top teams, Qatar and Bahrain, will meet each other on Monday (Sept 19) to decide the group champions.
Earlier, Bangladesh Youth team played goalless draw with stronger Bahrain in the first match last Saturday and tested the first victory beating Bhutan by 2-1 goal in the 2nd match last Monday.
