Bangladesh women cricket team has suffered a big blow ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifiers as right-arm pacer Jahanara Alam has been ruled out of the event due to a hand injury.
The experienced bowler needed two stitches in her right hand for the injury she sustained Thursday during a practice session in Abu Dhabi. She was replaced by Fariha Islam Trisna, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, batter Fargana Hoque Pinky tested positive for Covid-19 and is being treated as per the medical protocol of the event. Shohaly Akhther was named as her replacement.
The replacement players will join the team in Abu Dhabi Saturday.
Bangladesh's campaign in the tournament will start with the match against Ireland on 18 September.
