India’s opening batter Virat Kohli’s 71st international century came in the last match of Super 4 in Asia Cup against Afghanistan where India posted 212 runs for 2 wickets at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday night.
In the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and acting skipper KL Rahul started for India with the former India captain batting like a house on fire from the get-go, setting a massive target for Afghanistan in 20 overs.
Kohli scored an unbeaten 122 off 61 balls.
Skipper KL Rahul scored 62 runs from 41 balls and Pant scored 20 runs off 16 balls.
On the other hand, Afghan bowler Fareed Ahmad bagged 2 wickets for 57 runs in 4 overs.
Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bowl first.
In the second innings, Afghanistan scored 63 runs for 7 wickets in 15 overs.
