In reply to Afghanistan’s 129, Pakistan needed 11 runs in last over with just one wicket remaining. Afghanistan’s best bowler of the match Fazalhaq Faorroqi came to bowl, and astonishing the crowd and the spectators, Nasim, even after being a bowler, hits two sixes in a row to chase down the target with four balls to spare.
With this victory, Pakistan confirmed their place in final match, in which they will face Sri Lanka. That means, India and Afghanistan has no chance to go to the final anymore.
Earlier, Haris Rauf bowled an excellent spell as Pakistan restricted Afghanistan to 129 for six in the ongoing Asia Cup Super-4 clash at the Sharjah Cricket Associations Stadium.
Haris returned figures of two for 26 as Afghanistan failed to capitalise on a strong start given by openers Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Apart from Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Nawaz also bagged a wickets each. For Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran played a vital 35-run cameo while Zazai also scored 21.
In reply to Afghanistan’s total, Pakistan also struggle from the beginning. They began to lose wickets in regular interval.
However, the attacking batting of Asif Ali (16 from 8 balls) and last moment magic of Nasim Shah (14 from 4 balls) made it possible for Pakistan to snatch the win somehow.
