Rajput leader Raj Shekhawat has issued a strong warning to the makers of Pushpa 2, accusing the film of insulting the Kshatriya community. In a post on social media platform X, Shekhawat expressed his displeasure over the portrayal of a character named 'Shekhawat,' played by Fahadh Faasil. "Pushpa 2 movie has a negative role of ‘Shekhawat,’ again insult to Kshatriyas. Karni Sainiks be ready, the producer of the movie will be thrashed soon," he wrote.
Shekhawat claimed that the use of the name 'Shekhawat' in a negative light was an offense to the community, urging the filmmakers to remove it from the film. "The movie has done grave insult to Kshatriyas. The 'Shekhawat' community has been presented in a poor light. This industry has been insulting the Kshatriyas in the name of freedom of speech, and they have again done the same thing," he said in a video message.
Shekhawat, who leads the Karni Sena, a group representing Rajput interests, further threatened the producers. "The makers of the movie should remove the continuous use of 'Shekhawat' word from the movie, or else, the Karni Sena will thrash them inside their house and will go to any limits as required," he added.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has been dominating the box office since its release. The film earned ₹294 crore globally on its opening day, setting new records, including breaking the opening day record previously held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, Pushpa 2 continues the story of red sandalwood smuggling, with Allu Arjun reprising his role as Pushpa Raj and Fahadh Faasil returning as the antagonist Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film has received widespread attention, further elevating the star power of its cast, including Allu Arjun, who was awarded a National Film Award for his performance in the first part of the series.
