Bangladeshi expatriates sent $192.99 crore in remittances in the first 22 days of February which is equivalent to 23 thousand 544 crore 78 lakh Taka.
According to Bangladesh Bank data, of the $192.99 crore received so far in February, $68.69 crore came through state-owned banks, $14.43 crore through specialised banks, $109.42 crore through private banks, and approximately $42.9 lakh million through foreign banks.
These include the state-owned Bangladesh Development Bank (BDBL) and the specialised Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank. Among private banks, Community Bank, ICB Islami Bank, and Padma Bank failed to receive remittances, while in the foreign sector, Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and State Bank of India recorded no inflows.
During January, expatriates sent $218.52 crore in total remittances.
