The organizers of the eagerly awaited ‘Magical Night 2.0’ concert, featuring Pakistani music sensation Atif Aslam, have responded to concerns about ticketing issues and confirmed the event's venue.
The concert is set for November 29 at Dhaka’s Army Stadium.
The controversy arose late Wednesday when developer Fardeen Ahmed Cse uncovered a significant data breach on the Ticket Tomorrow website, the official ticketing partner for the event.
A Google Drive folder containing personal details including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and ticket information of over 5,000 concert goers was unintentionally shared on Facebook, causing concern among attendees.
In addition to the data breach, speculation about the venue added to the confusion.
Several local media outlets reported that tickets for the concert were sold out despite the fact that the Army Stadium had not yet been confirmed as the venue.
On Thursday, Triple Time Communications, the concert’s organizer, dispelled the rumors, officially announcing that Army Stadium would host the event.
In a statement to UNB and other media, the organizers emphasized their commitment to transparency, addressing the swirling misinformation.
“In response to recent rumors circulating in the media regarding the status of venue permissions for our upcoming event at Army Stadium, Triple Time Communications would like to clarify that these reports are entirely false. We have secured all necessary permissions for the event and are committed to providing accurate information to the public,” the organizers said in a Facebook post.
In response to the ticketing data breach, Ticket Tomorrow acknowledged the incident and issued an apology.
“We encountered an issue where some user and ticket data were accessed without authorization. We sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused. Rest assured, we have already taken legal action against those responsible and have reinforced our safety measures,” the company stated.
They also reassured ticket holders that their current bookings are secure and that new purchase confirmations will be issued shortly.
“New purchase confirmations will be sent soon, and your existing purchases are safe! For any queries, please contact us through our official Facebook page or via WhatsApp at +8801724723612,” the statement added.
This concert marks Atif Aslam’s second performance in Dhaka this year. The celebrated artist, who co-founded the band Jal in 2002, has built a loyal fan base in Bangladesh.
