The popular folk-rock band “Lalon” is set to release a new album, “Bauls of Bengal,” after a six-year break. The album will debut on their YouTube channel on October 17, in honor of the 250th birth anniversary and 134th death anniversary of the celebrated mystic Fakir Lalon Shah.
The album contains seven tracks. Among the seven songs, four are by Lalon himself, rest of the three are by Shah Abdul Karim, Radharaman Dutta, and Bijoy Sarkar respectively. Lalon band’s lead singer Nigar Sultana Sumi has lent her voice to the tracks. The band’s drummer Thein Han Maung arranges the music of the album.
The first song of the album “Ekta Bod Hawa” released on 11 October on Lalon’s YouTube channel.
The other songs of the album are—“Shotto Bol Supothe Chol,” “Mon Torongo,” “Odhor Chand”, “Tomaro Pirite Bondhure,” “Bondhu Doyamoy” and “Ami Jare Bashi Bhalo.”
Lalon band’s last album “Shada Kalo” was released in 2018.
The current lineup of Lalon includes Nigar Sultana Sumi (lead vocals), Thein Han Maung (drums), Tahjib Ur Rashid Adib (bass), Aarafat Bosnia (keyboard) and Mohonto Sarker (guitar).
