Renowned film director Sohanur Rahman Sohan was laid to rest in Tangail town on Thursday morning.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at Tangail old bus stand mosque at 9:00 am.
Later he was buried beside the grave of his wife.
Before the burial, Sohanur’s body was taken to his in-laws' house in the Palashtoli area of Tangail. Relatives and locals gathered there to see him for the last time.
Sohanur Rahman, famous for his groundbreaking film ‘Keyamot Theke Keyamot’, passed away at a city hospital on Wednesday evening.
Earlier on Tuesday night, his wife died of brain stroke at a hospital in the capital.
Sohanur Rahman is the maker of many successful films.
His notable films are -- ‘Biswas Abiswas’, ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’, ‘Swajan’, ‘Amar Ghor Amar Behest’, ‘Ononto Bhalobasa’.
Sohanur Rahman Sohan served as Secretary General and Vice President twice in the Bangladesh Film Directors Association.
