Renowned film director Sohanur Rahman Sohan, famous for his groundbreaking film ‘Keyamot Theke Keyamot’, passed away at a city hospital on Wednesday evening.
Confirming the death, film director, producer, writer, and actor Kazi Hayat said Sohanur Rahman’s body has been kept in a hospital in Uttara.
Earlier on Tuesday night, Sohanur Rahman Sohan’s wife died of brain stroke at a hospital in the capital.
Sohanur Rahman is the maker of many successful films.
His notable films are -- ‘Biswas Abiswas’, ‘Keyamat Theke Keyamat’, ‘Swajan’, ‘Amar Ghor Amar Behest’, ‘Ononto Bhalobasa’.
Salman Shah, Moushumi, Popy, and Erin Zaman came to the media by the hand of this filmmaker.
He was also the director of Shakib Khan’s first movie.
Sohanur Rahman Sohan served as Secretary General and Vice President twice in the Bangladesh Film Directors Association.
He started his film career as an assistant to director Shibli Sadik.
