State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said, “The new generation needs to be be informed in detail about Shaheed (martyred) President Ziaur Rahman's patriotism and honesty. For this purpose, the youth should be given the opportunity to read the books written about him.”
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and dua mahfil on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at the party office in Laldighi Par of Jashore city on Saturday morning.
Anindya Islam Amit said, “Ziaur Rahman is in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh. Not only the people of the country but many people around the world know about his patriotism and honesty. That is why the head of the previous government, Sheikh Hasina, could not raise any question about the honesty of Shaheed Zia despite launching various propaganda against the Zia family and BNP.”
He further said, “The main slogan of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is 'Bangladesh first'. The people of the country have accepted this slogan wholeheartedly. So BNP has been able to form the government with an absolute majority. Keeping this spirit in mind, the current government is working to build a self-reliant and developed Bangladesh by giving utmost importance to national interests.”
The State Minister expressed hope that the Bangladesh of the future will be safe in the hands of its people.
On the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, various day-long programs were organized in Jashore on Saturday by the initiative of the district BNP and its affiliates and associate organizations.
