The government is working with a commitment to national unity and nation-building, said Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
He made the remarks on Thursday (May 28) while speaking to journalists after exchanging Eid greetings with the Prime Minister at his Gulshan residence in Dhaka.
The Home Minister said people from all walks of life must be united, regardless of political differences, to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.
“Our main goal and only slogan is ‘Bangladesh first’,” he said.
“We will work, we will build the country, Bangladesh first,” adding that the government aims to move forward with strong national unity involving all citizens.
He said that in post-August 5, 2024 Bangladesh, people are enjoying a free, independent and peaceful environment, under which the country has been able to celebrate several festive Eids in succession.
He called upon everyone to pray collectively to Almighty Allah for continued prosperity, peace, stability and overall welfare of the country.
