Personal attacks and character assassination are not freedom, these are crimes, said the Prime Minister's additional press secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
He said this at a press conference organized by the Press Wing at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday to mark the '100 days of government'.
The press secretary said, “A teenager sitting next to one of our former female advisors is addressing our Prime Minister Tarique Rahman...she is belittling a Prime Minister by calling him Prime Minister. This is leading to our social decline.”
He regretted and said, "By whom are we speaking these (languages)? We are delivering these words with your and my children. Seeing that girl, many more children are learning. I think we should move away from these."
Atikur Rahman Rumon said, "Personal outrage, personal attacks and character assassination in the name of freedom of expression are not freedom; these are crimes."
