Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu said that those criticizing the Teesta master plan are not making these statements to gain people's love, but to spread confusion.
“They have never been seen in the movement to achieve Teesta rights. Just as the Prime Minister announced the Padma Bridge, he also announced the implementation of the Teesta master plan,” he said.
He made these remarks while talking to the reporters after the inauguration ceremony of the 'Teestapar Love Market' at the Chinatoli School Ground in Rajpur Union of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon.
Regarding the Padma Barrage, the minister said, “The previous government had made progress on this work, ECNEC only got it passed. However, Teesta is our current master plan. We have been protesting over Teesta for these two crore people. Those who cannot see good work clearly are opposing it.”
Reacting strongly to the border killings, Asadul Habib Dulu said, "No matter what happens, no one should be shot dead without trial on the border. Even if someone is proven to be a criminal on the border, he should be brought under the law."
The event was attended by local dignitaries including Bidyananda Foundation executive director Jamal Uddin, district commissioner Rashedul Haque Pradhan and district police superintendent Asaduzzaman, among others.
