The railway authorities will operate 10 additional trains from Monday to keep the Eid journey unhindered, Railway Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam informed it to the media on Sunday morning.
The minister said, “So far, the overall management of the Eid journey is normal. Today, I boarded two trains and observed the overall situation. The overall management seems good.”
He said, “Three trains have left slightly late since the morning. One of these was delayed by about 30 minutes and the other by about an hour. Efforts are being made to resolve these problems by today. Special security measures have been taken to ensure a smooth Eid journey on the railways. Law enforcement officers are deployed on every platform of the station. Surveillance has been increased for passenger safety, including preventing roof-top travel.”
The holy Eid-ul-Azha or Eid of Sacrifice will be celebrated in the country on May 28. People have started leaving the capital on this occasion.
