The police are going to file a chargesheet against murderer Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Akter in the case filed in the case of the rape and murder of child Ramisa in Pallabi of Mirpur in the capital.
The chargesheet will be filed against the two in the court on Sunday afternoon.
In the morning, the investigation officer of the case, Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector Ohiduzzaman, told the media, "We received the DNA test report on Saturday. Some work is left, which is ongoing. We will submit the chargesheet against the two in the court on Sunday.
According to the case sources, Ramisa was a second-grade student of local Popular Model High School. When she left her house around 9:30 am on May 19, Swapna took her inside the room. Around 10:30 am that day, Ramisa’s mother started looking for her to go to school. At one point, she saw the child's shoes in front of the accused's room. After getting no response after knocking, Ramisa's parents and other people from the building broke the door and entered and found Ramisa's headless body on the floor of the accused's bedroom and her head in a large bucket inside the room. After receiving a call through the national emergency service 999, the police arrived at the scene and took Swapna into custody. With the help of information technology, the police were able to arrest Sohel Rana in front of the Fatulla police station in Narayanganj district.
On Wednesday, the victim's father, Abdul Hannan Mollah, filed a case with the Pallabi police station as a plaintiff in this incident.
The accused Sohel Rana, who was arrested in this case on May 20, confessed to the crime and gave a statement in the court. The killer said in his statement that he had consumed Yaba before the incident.
In his statement, Sohel said that when Ramisa left the house around 9:30 am on May 19, his wife Swapna Akhter took him inside the room. Then Sohel took little Ramisa to the bathroom and raped her. The child lost consciousness. Meanwhile, her mother kept knocking on the door. At this time, Sohel killed her by slitting her throat. To hide the body, her head was cut with a sharp knife and separated from the throat. The body was taken from the bathroom to the bedroom with both hands partially severed from the shoulders and kept under the bed. His wife was in the same room at the time of the incident. Later, he escaped by cutting the window grill.
