The weather office has warned that a storm with heavy rain and lightning may occur over the Sylhet region, with winds reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h.
The information was issued in a warning for the country's internal river ports, valid until 1 PM today, Wednesday.
A notice signed by meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir stated thatthat there may be temporary gusty or stormy winds blowing from the west or northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h over the Sylhet region, along with rain or thunder showers.
Consequently, river ports in the affected regions have been instructed to raise signal number 1.
Meanwhile, according to another bulletin from the weather office, there is a forecast for temporary gusty winds and lightning or rain and thunder showers in a few places of the Sylhet division until evening.
Additionally, it is expected that rain or thunder showers may increase across the entire country next week.
