BNP Joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon said there will be no disparity between rich and poor in Bangladesh if BNP comes to power.
“During the Awami League's tenure, the rich have become richer. The poor have become poorer. Awami League has created this disparity,” he said.
He said this while distributing winter clothes among the helpless and poor at the initiative of BNP at Narsingdi Municipality premises on Monday afternoon.
He also said that there was no accountability during the Awami League's tenure. They have looted money and siphoned off Tk 27 lakh crore. There is a burden of foreign debt of thousands of lakh crore taka. There are Tk 6 lakh crore in default on loans. Thousands of crore taka have been laundered by Sheikh Hasina's sons and daughters and family members.
Stating that the people's fundamental rights will be implemented, he said, “Awami League has destroyed the country by looting, whereas BNP has built the country. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman worked for the underprivileged people of the country. The Awami League's misdeeds have forced them to flee the country. The people of Bangladesh no longer want to see the Awami League in politics.”
Narsingdi City BNP president Golam Kabir Kamal presided over the meeting, which was also attended by general secretary Faruk Uddin Bhuiyan, Akbar Hossain, Aminul Haque Bachchu, Jubo Dal president Mohsin Hossain Bidyut, Swechchhasebak Dal general secretary Kabir Hossain, Jubo Dal leader Sumon Chowdhury, former Chhatra Dal general secretary Abdur Rouf Fakir Rony and leaders of BNP's constituent organizations.
