The interim government has finalized the decision to change the uniforms of the Bangladesh Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and Ansar. Sarjis Alam, the coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, has shared his views on this matter.
On Monday afternoon, Sarjis Alam expressed his opinion through a post on his verified Facebook profile.
In his post, Sarjis stated, “Changing uniforms without changing behavior, character, and mindset is futile. The problem lies not in the uniforms but in the entire system.”
Earlier today, during a meeting of the advisory council at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the decision to change the uniforms of law enforcement agencies was finalized.
Following the meeting, Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury briefed journalists about the details.
It was announced that the police uniform would be iron-grey, RAB's uniform would be olive green, and Ansar's uniform would be golden wheat in color.
