BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, ‘We want to firmly believe that we will get the support of the people. After the party is restructured, we will also restructure and repair the state. The 31 points will be implemented."
He said, ‘We have to bring those people who are talented in front of us. We have to unite such people who are hardworking, who have integrity and ideals. We have to bring them to the party. We have to involve them more.”
“We have to turn well-wishers into supporters, supporters into actoivists, and activists into leaders. We need good people. We need effective people. We need productive people in the future as this runaway dictatorship has left the country far behind. It has destroyed various sectors. So if we have to restructure, we need such people. We have to bring such people out.’
Tarique Rahman said this while virtually participating in the inauguration ceremony of the party’s membership renewal program at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, in the capital, on Monday afternoon.
The BNP acting chairman said, “The day of membership renewal is a joy for the party. For a long time, countless leaders and activists in villages and towns have gone through indescribable torture. A storm has passed over the country due to which it has been devastated. Every sector has been devastated. Leaders and activists of BNP and other parties have been disappeared, murdered and crippled. Political parties have also been crushed.”
At this time, he called on everyone to work unitedly to rebuild the party and the country.
At the programme, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Membership renewal is an ongoing process. It has started on the instructions of the acting chairman. Only those who are members will renew membership. It will go from the central office to the district, from the district to the upazila and from there to the union. This will be done by the organizing secretaries.”
