The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate allegations of 'corruption' in installing sculptures and murals of Bangabandhu across the country at a cost of several thousand crore taka.
ACC director general (Prevention) Md. Akhter Hossain announced about the investigation in a briefing on Thursday.
He said that the decision has been taken to investigate the allegations of wastage and embezzlement of government funds by installing unnecessary sculptures and murals of Bangabandhu across the country at a cost of several thousand crore taka.
The ACC has also decided to investigate allegations of 'corruption' in the name of construction, renovation and development of 'Mujib Killa' in memory of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in different areas of the country during the previous Awami League government.
