The United Kingdom (UK) Government has reiterated its advice for citizens to avoid non-essential travel to certain areas in Bangladesh, as announced by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) on Saturday.
The FCDO has advised against all but essential travel to the Chattogram Hill Tracts, which include the districts of Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban. The warning follows regular reports of violence and criminal activity, particularly in the more remote regions.
The FCDO also highlighted that its ability to offer assistance in these areas is severely limited, urging travellers to reconsider their plans and stay informed about the risks.
