Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has said he takes the delay in the trial of the BDR massacre with suspicion.
He said this comment in a post on his verified Facebook profile on Sunday.
Hasnat Abdullah said, "The Awami League's (AL) journey to becoming fascist began with the BDR masacre. I take the delay in the trial of the BDR masacre with suspicion."
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has informed the High Court that the government has withdrawn its decision to form a commission for the time being as two cases related to the BDR massacre are pending.
Deputy attorney general Tanim Khan informed the High Court bench headed by Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury on Sunday morning.
The memorandum signed by assistant secretary of the public security department of the Home Ministry, Md. Mofizul Islam, said that the government is considering the matter (BDR massacre) with great importance as it is of national importance; As two related cases are pending in court, no other decision could be taken at this stage.
