The Bangladeshi film "Neelchokro (Blue Circle)" has been selected for the Golden State Film Festival in Los Angeles, USA. The film has been chosen for the 'Foreign Language' category. According to Mithu, the film will be screened on the last day of the festival.
The director of the film, Mithu Khan, said that the 8th edition of the Golden State Film Festival will take place from February 14 to 20 at the TLC Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.
Expressing his reaction, the director said, "This is the first time a Bangladeshi film has been selected for this festival. It is a major opportunity for independent filmmakers. It's almost like a talent hunt. Having my film selected is a big achievement for us."
Regarding the thriller story of "Neelchokro," Mithu said, "The story is very familiar to us. Every family has a story like this. It's about the sudden accident of one family member and the impact it has on the whole family. It also includes a story about the traps of technology."
Mithu also mentioned that the producers and cast members will be present at the screening. Earlier, the world premiere of "Neelchokro" was held at the American Film Market in Las Vegas, USA.
The film stars Arifin Shuvoo and Mondera Chakroborty in leading roles. Mithu Khan co-wrote the screenplay and story with Nazim Ud Doula.
While Arifin Shuvoo plays the main role, another significant character in the film is portrayed by singer Balam. In addition to acting, Balam also sang a song for the film.
Other actors in the film include Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shirin Alam, Khaleda Akhter Kalpona, Shahed Ali, Tiger Robi, Monir Ahmed Shakeel, Priyontee Urbee.
