On Tuesday afternoon, a special screening was arranged for over a hundred rickshaw pullers at Lion Cinemas. The event was attended by Bongo’s Chief Content Officer Mushfiqur Rahman, Content Head Ali Haider, and Rickshaw Girl’s lead actress Novera Rahman, among others.
The film deeply moved the rickshaw pullers, many of whom expressed their emotions after the screening. They expressed that they never imagined their struggles would be portrayed so vividly on the big screen. They believe the film will help create empathy among the general public for their hardships.
Speaking about the experience, Novera said, “I portrayed their story in the film, and today, some of them watched it together. It feels like my hard work has finally paid off. While watching the movie, they could relate to many aspects that general audiences might not have understood.”
She further expressed, “This moment will always be memorable for me. It felt like I was watching the film with my own people.”
Bongo authorities stated that the relentless efforts and resilience of rickshaw pullers inspired the making of the film. Before its OTT release, they wanted to bring the story to those who played a crucial role in its creation.
