Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin has said that the edible oil market will be stable within seven to ten days.
The shortage of soybean oil in the market will be resolved, he said while speaking at a programme at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
He also assured that there is no scope of instability in the prices of chickpeas, peas, dates, lentils and sugar ahead of Ramadan as there is no crisis of these products, he said.
Commerce Adviser said, “By the grace of Allah, we are not seeing a crisis in any other product. Insha'Allah, the oil problem will be resolved in a few days.”
When asked whether initiatives will be taken regarding the fact that sellers are being forced to buy other products along with edible oil, the advisor said, “We have sent people to the institutions regarding this. We have received both acceptance in some places and rejection in some places. We will ensure that such incidents do not happen. If it happens, we will take action through consumer rights.”
