The United Nations has published an investigation report on human rights violations during the July Uprising in Bangladesh, revealing that more than 1,400 people may have been killed between July 1 and August 15. The death toll is based on information obtained from various reliable sources.
According to the report, 12-13 percent of the dead were children. Thousands of people were injured during this time. The injured were shot by Bangladeshi security forces. Bangladesh police said, 44 of their officers were killed.
The report also states that the former government of Bangladesh, along with security and intelligence agencies and allied organizations of the Awami League, were systematically involved in serious human rights violations during last year's student-led protests.
