In the ninth phase, 95 more expatriates will return to Bangladesh from Lebanon on Tuesday night (November 12). The group will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:20 PM, after traveling from Beirut via Dubai.
In a press release on Friday (November 8), the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut provided this information.
The embassy stated that, due to the ongoing war situation in Lebanon, expatriate Bangladeshis who have voluntarily applied to return home, and who have prepared the necessary travel documents, including passports and residency permits (akamas), will have their processes completed and be repatriated under the embassy's arrangements.
The government has repatriated a total of 521 Bangladeshis from Lebanon so far.
This includes 54 people in the first phase on October 21, 96 people on two flights on October 23, 30 in the fourth phase, 36 in the fifth phase, and 52 in the sixth phase.
In the seventh phase, 70 Bangladeshis returned on November 3, followed by 183 expatriates in the eighth phase on November 5.
