The President of Bangladesh Nationalist Lawers Forum Zainul Abedin has said that President Shahabuddin should resign of his own accord as he blatantly lied about the resignation of the ousted Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina.
He made these remarks today(Monday), addressing the journalist regarding the issue of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Zainul Abedin stated, "The army chief, Waker-uz-Zaman, who brought the resignation letter from the Prime Minister, has never stated that he did not give the letter to the President. People have no doubt that Sheikh Hasina submitted a resignation letter."
“If the President contradicts what he announced on August 5 regarding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, then he should resign on his own,” he added.
This matter has resurfaced following President Shahabuddin's comment that there is no evidence or paperwork of Sheikh Hasina's resignation, made during a recent exclusive interview with Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, the editor of the Manabzamin.
