The government on Monday issued the notification on 2025 public holidays where it officially extended the Eid-ul-Azha vacation to six days, Eid-ul-Fitr holidays to five days, and Durga Puja holidays to two days.
Until this year, there were three days of holidays for each Eid festival. The interim government extended the Durga Puja holiday to two days this year on executive order.
As per Monday’s notification from public administration ministry, general holidays will be observed on March 31 and June 7 next year respectively for Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the notification, March 29-30 and April 1-2 announced for Eid-ul-Fitr celebration while June 5, 6, and 8, 9 10 announced for Eid-ul-Azha on executive orders.
Earlier on October 17, a proposal in this regard was approved at the advisory council meeting held at the Chief Adviser’s Office.
