A gas cylinder blasts in a bus in Lakshmipur’s Sadar upazila on early Monday while refilling gas, leaving 3 dead on spot and 9 other severely injured.
The deceased were identified as Md Hridoy (19), Md Yousuf (32) and Sujon (25).
It was informed that Hriday, a motor mechanic by profession, is the son of Siraj, a resident of Lakshmipur municipality’s 13 ward’s Rajibpur village. Yousuf is the son of Suja Miya, a resident of Lakshmipur municipality’s 2 ward’s Banchanagar village and Sujon is the son of Batu miya of Sadar’s Charmansa village.
One of the 9 injured is Shahid Ulya (49), son of Abdul Malek of Charmohana village in Raipur upazila of the district. The other injured remained unidentified.
However, all of them are in critical condition as some of them lost their hand and foot.
Confirming the death, resident medical officer of Sadar Hospital Dr Joynal Abedin, said that three dead body were bought to the hospital.
“As injured are in serious conditions, we referred 5-6 six of them for advanced treatment,” he furthered adding that some of them were critically injured in their tongue and chest, leg and arm.
“One has lost his hand while another injured lost his leg.”
