Two bus collision kills 5 in Faridpur

A head-on collision between two buses in the Mallikpur area of Faridpur Sadar Upazila has killed five and injured at least nine.

The accident took place on Tuesday around 4 am in the morning, when two buses bound for Jhenaidah from Dhaka collided head-on.

The deceased have not been identified yet. The injured are being treated at Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital. Highway Police and the Fire Service and Civil Defence members are conducting rescue operations.

Confirming the matter, Karimpur Highway Police Officer in Charge Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury said that attempts are being made to identify the names of all the victims. Both of the buses were seized by Police.
