Wahiduddin Mahmud, the Education Adviser, fears that if all HSC candidates are given an auto-pass, it will undermine the results of those students who would pass the examinations through their hard work, reports BSS.
He made these remarks in response to the demand of some students who wanted an auto pass to all HSC candidates this year.
“I’ve heard that a small number of students has raised a demand regarding the upcoming HSC examination results, saying that all should be given auto-pass,” said the adviser.
Wahiduddin Mahmud noted that while it would have been preferable to hold the remaining HSC exams this year, the authorities suddenly had to announce their cancellation due to an unforeseen situation at the secretariat
Wahiduddin Mahmud was informed by the board authorities that they were preparing the final results following the previous precedents and taking the results of related SSC subjects into consideration for those HSC subjects, which exams were canceled.
The results of those who failed in any subject in SSC and took the opportunity to retake the exam in the next year have also been taken into consideration, Wahiduddin said.
“If all candidates are given auto-pass now it will undermine the results of the majority students who have passed the exams (through hard work). So, I do not see any logical ground for such demand (of giving an auto-pass to all),” he added.
