Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has carried out a successful retaliatory strike against a group of Israeli forces advancing towards South Lebanon.
The operation was carried out near the town of Aita al-Shaab on Monday, the group announced, Press TV reported.
“While three Merkava tanks of the Israeli enemy were advancing towards the outskirts of the town, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance bombed them with guided missiles, achieving direct hits,” said the movement.
“Tongues of fire were seen erupting from the vehicles, and their occupants were killed and wounded,” it added.
Hezbollah has launched hundreds of such strikes against the occupied Palestinian territories since last October, when the Israeli regime began bringing the Gaza Strip under a genocidal war and intensifying its deadly attacks against Lebanon.
Also on Monday, the group announced using rocket salvos to target gatherings of enemy forces at a radar site and the Barkhta farm in Lebanon’s Tel Aviv-occupied Shebaa Farms as well as the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in the country’s Kfar Shuba Hills, which is likewise under Israeli occupation.
The operations came only a day after Hezbollah reported carrying out a drone strike on the military base for the Golani Brigade in Binyamina south of the city of Haifa in the northern areas, leaving four of the Israeli forces killed and dozens more wounded.
