National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan said on Saturday that they would collect revenue and comply with the country’s laws, rules, and regulations properly.
He emphasized not putting pressure on the taxpayers during revenue collection and will give comfort to the taxpayers.
The NBR chairman came up with the observation while addressing a discussion on the changes brought in direct taxation through the Finance Act, 2024 at the Multipurpose Hall of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in the capital's Agargaon.
Announcing making the NBR laws as business-friendly, he said, I urge everyone to submit income tax returns online. The NBR could not collect enough revenue. As a result, the government debts are being increased on the people. We will have to leave this trend.”
In his speech, Finance and Commerce Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed emphasized collecting domestic revenue as a large amount of foreign investment won’t come.
