The protesting students are gathering around Raju Memorial sculpture of Dhaka University to raise their one-point demand of reforming quota system in government jobs.
They have called for a protest on Monday afternoon in protest against the 'insulting' statements about the agitators.
On Monday 12.10 pm, the first procession came in front of the Raju sculpture. Mahin Sarkar, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, led the march. Later, a group of students from Dhaka Medical College and Badrunnessa Government College came with the procession. After that, students come in groups in front of the Raju sculpture.
Now slogans are being chanted on the square in front of the Raju sculpture as attending students chanting slogans.
Meanwhile, the Chhatra League has called for a sit-in program at the same place at 3 pm to protest against 'insulting the spirit of the liberation war'.
Nahid, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, the platform of the movement demanding quota reform, said that the students were shocked by the Prime Minister's speech and she should withdraw that statement.
