Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed Saturday morning after about four and a half hours of suspension due to dense fog in the Padma River.
Ferry movement resumed at 11 am as fog intensity started to decline.
Mohiuddin Russell, manager of BIWTC's Paturia office confirmed the matter, reports banglanews24.com.
He said that dense fog blanketed the river routes, forcing the authority to suspend the ferry movements around 7:30 am.
Three ferries were stuck at Padma River at that time, he added.
Other ferries were asked to remain at the ghats to avoid any untoward situation, he said, adding passengers were seen waiting on both sides of the river amid the bone-chilling cold.
