State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said electricity will come in March next to Bangladesh from Adani Power Plant of India’s Jharkhand.
He came up with the information after visiting the under-construction 1,600 MW power plant of Adani Power Limited on Tuesday.
The state minister said a dedicated power transmission line has been constructed to bring power from India.
Electricity might come from India in mid-March, he added.
Mentioning that the government is searching for alternative fuel destinations to meet the local demand, Nasrul said Bangladesh will get 750 MW of power from the first unit of the Adani Power Plant.
